Oh, hi. Happy New Year.
Many folks spend the end of the year trying to figure out where all the time went. Not me. I know exactly where it went. Since 2016, I have been keeping track.
Here are 2024’s stats.
And 2025? More or less the same.
- 177 Graphic Novels
- 27 Books
- 1,244 Podcasts
- 1,333 TV Shows
- 197 Movies (23 in IMAX)
I am surprised that podcasts went up so much but everything else stayed the same. I was sick for a bit there. Lots of lying down. Also, why get up early when you can curl up with the cat and listen to American History Tellers or Conan?
The movies were not as great this year. Nor were the books. I think between those two categories I bought 6 items to keep on my shelves. I do not regret the media I consumed. However, I think most of it could be accurately labeled as, “Fine.”
No kids, no spouses, no huge responsibilities. Most days I came home, relaxed, and earned my New Technologies in Mass Media degree. When I declared my major, I meant it.
As for this year? Honestly? Probably more of the same. Only time will tell.
