Monday Media Mirth (Katz, Jerks, and Zorro)

Howdy,

Friday’s blog went over well.  It seems like people like cartoons.  Go figure.  And it is only a fool that thinks they create the best stuff on the internet.  So, since this is rather a media-heavy site and I think folks can uses bursts of merriment, we shall try out Monday Media Mirth.  You get an internet video, a cartoon, and a trailer.  Maybe a quote too.  I will link each snippet to where you can find more.  It is the polite (and informative) thing to do, darn it.

I love Katz20two.  If we are allowed a YouTube crush, then she is my pick.  Adorable, funny, and you can tell she has a good brain tickin’ away.  Also, she has cats.  Now I would never try to make my bed on a daily basis.  My cat is not tolerant enough to deal with that many sheets.  However, I find the whole thing amusing.  Plus, she actually contacted the band that wrote the song and asked permissions!  Gasp!  Naturally, they said yes.  (But c’mon, who is polite enough to contact bands?  That is high class.)

The Far Side.  Happy times through absurdity and nerd jokes.  And if the hardcover was too pricey for you, a softcover version is on its way.

The Mask of Zorro trailer is briliant.  The average run time for a trailer is 2:18-2:28.  This sucker leaves the 3 minute mark far behind and still does not give away anything.  The voiceover is perfect.  All the elements of the film are there; the humor, the fencing, the fun, the drama.  I was a big Anthony Hopkins fan when this came out so that helped.  But I am just a Zorro fan.  I read the first book and I grew up watching the Guy Williams’ version which still holds up today.  (I did not link to the DVDs because they art heart-breakingly expensive.  Sorry, kids.)  This film had great villains, terrific fencing by all, and helped put Catherine Zeta-Jones on the map.  All good stuff.

Have a heart that never hardens, and a temper that never tires, and a touch that never hurts.” -Charles Dickens

Happy Monday.  Play nice.
